today was society's day which basically means its cca-walkabout kinda thing.
the only difference is that when you sign up here, you will actually get free drinks (meaning alcoholic drinks) from most of the clubs. like up to 6! so they probably signed up for many many and just took the drinks. this is just an introduction to what happened just a few hours ago along my corridor. ><
cam3ron (my next door neighbour) came back a little high but still rather awake so thats fine.
3mma (another meddie) came by and started to chitchat with us. so things were going quite well up till about now. s
lawr3nce (another neighbour further down) came back dead drunk and i think he probably lost all his senses already. his friends were carrying him and they placed the big black rubbish bin in front of him for him to puke half-sitting. unfortunately, he slumped down and all of times, he puked. so the poor resid3nt f3llows had to get the vomit powder and clean up the mess he's just made. >< so thats guy numero uno!
so here comes guy numero dos! brad7 was not as drunk but still rather wasted. his friend brought him into his room and he kinda fell asleep before he suddenly felt like peeing. so his friend pulled him outta his room and somehow he walked straight into the kitchenette and PEED there!!! EWW! so yeah the poor RF's had to come and clear up AGAIN. thereafter, poor brad7 went back to sleep.
kinda screwed up, seriously. i mean its like drinking beer/alcohol is just like drinking water to them. you'll probably have better access to beer than to water here. you dont find water coolers ANYWHERE apart from at my hall. >< the water cost like $2.50-3 for a bottle from the vending machines. so freaking expensive!
oh ya. i'm pissed off at something too. i just realised that we have to pay for the dumb first aid course and its a freaking A$110! that's madness. i'm sorry but i think the things here are relatively expensive. i'm just getting used to buying cheap things from chickenfeed and finding cheap clothes at supr3. HAHAH. cheapskate but hey, its a must. its almost impossible to find anything below A$20. even the bargain racks can cost like A$50! thats NOT a bargain.
school starts at 10 tmr and i've got my first practical! microscope use and i'll be observing liver and small intestines.. oohh.. cool rite? :) its alright i guess. but i think i might have to stay back after pract at 4 for cbl discussion. kabish. i need to leave by late 4+ to catch the bus back to jane to be in time for dinner at 6.30! but there's pre-dinner drinks cos its the informal formal dinner which means you can just wear shorts and the ugly academic gown. its got shoulder pads!! argh.. plus the fact that the sleeves always hook onto the other chairs and its kinda embarrassing when you're trying to get back to your seat but you're stuck and have to unhook your sleeve. SOO.. i pinned my sleeves together. muahaha. hopefully it works. worked well last sat so yeah.. :)
gotta get some shuteye now. shall wake up at the same time tmr and get more first aid done before sunday!

OMG I FINALLY GOT MY INTERNET ACCESS UP!!! I'm in the library now because I don't wanna use up my bandwidth limit so yeah, here I am now.. hope you haven't missed me too much yeah? ;)
life's good so far, the weather's here is rather freaky. i mean like it was really hot one day and now its like really cold. almost 16 deg when it was about 36 a few days back! so now i'm kinda freezing my ass off and my fingers are losing their sensation. HAHAH. went down to salamanca today to look see look see with lawrence and his dad. bought 2 headbands and a crazy beanie with funky hair! bought honey and stuff too. tried the tiniest pancakes in town! they were like puny! i mean like probably the size of the aussic 50c coin or something. yeah but it cost like $4.50 but we could choose the sauce we wanted and i took the blueberry and apple one. yummy! seriously, you people should come here and visit me cos the air here is really nice and the water is actually drinkable from the tap unlike other places in australia! bought a windbreaker as well as i was actually really really cold today for like $30 and i think its quite reasonable. hopefully it will keep me warm in winter and i won't actually freeze to death here ( the temp actually drops to like -2!!)
had commencement dinner today and the food was really nice! we had some roast veggies with hummus and funny sauce, hazelnut crusted turkey tenderloin with cranberry sauce and fruit flan with whipped cream and some other funny mango sauce.
its now 9.16pm here and i suppose its just 6.16pm there in singapore.. right? difference of about 3h now that daylight saving hasnt ended. anw, if you guys wanna sms me, its +61405483464 and if you wanna call my room, its +61362217008. if you've got M1, i think you can call me without having to pay idd charges so its just like a normal local call. ;)
rained here yest and today which is kinda rare since it rarely rains in tassie as far as i know. we're like the sunniest place in aussie! and you would have thought it was brisbane/gold coast yeah?
i think most of you would probably wonder how's the food, the people (esp guys) etc. the food's here relatively expensive. we had wanton mee/charsiew mee and it cost me like $8.50!!! went to saigon kitch3n yest and we were set back like $79.90 for 5 people. which i think is actually rather cheap by tassie standards.
and i've been walking bukit timah hill everyday! tassie is like super super hilly and i wonder why can't they like flatten the hills before building the uni or rather hobart! >< omg there's so much to talk about now that i finally got my connection!! alright i shall go day by day.
14/2: yj, sean, bel, pq sent me off and it was really nice seeing them all over again for the last time before i leave for tassie. plane was delayed for an hour to 9.10pm so went in later than i was supposed to. but guess what? we only left at 10.10pm because we were actually waiting for a connecting flight from heathrow! so yeah, there being only 2 hours for my transit to hobart at melbourne, i obviously missed my domestic flight when we arrived there about 7 hours later.
15/2we actually reached melbourne at 8+ when my flight was supposed to leave at 8.35am! dammit. so yeah we went to see if we could be rescheduled onto the next available hobart flight but there were all full so the next available melb-hobart flight would be at 10.30pm! note that its about 10am now. so we decided to take the other option of going up to sydney before actually going back down to hobart. that means we reached hobart at about 4.10pm instead of 9.45am. :( by the time i reached jane, it was about 6pm so we had our late dinner which was like lamb chop with chicken cutlet + cheese on it. :) sounds good yeah? the food at jane is really quite good i must say. thank god they changed the chef this year if not it probably will be as bad as ibs3n had mentioned before. :P
16/2: had registration and mock formal dinner. the blardy gown has SHOULDER PADS! like OMG so gross! so we all look funny and there's nothing we can do about it. had pre-dinner drinks which meant orange juice for me. dinner commenced soon after and i had half a glass of white wine. i realised i cannot drink wine cos i go red really really easily. i can down vodka etc and not go red but wine just does me in. :S had red black white party which i left halfway to go down to woolworths (its just cold storage) to get my toiletries and stuff. walked all the way to jane + we kinda missed the road to turn so we walked further than we had to. :( but we arrived safely in the end. heard that the drunk people kinda broke a window that night along the connecting pathway. HAHA. so not surprised. they drink a lot! during BYO nights, they down 6 cans like its nothing! and they'll continue in someone else's room till they're totally wasted.
nothing interesting really happened in the week apart from playing laser challenge down in town for block party! we had like a base to defend and we had to attack other bases to win. my team was damn funny cos we didn't even know where our base was so we just cheonged and we were attacked like umpteen times. at the end of the first game, we still didn't know where our base was! HAHAHA!!! but we improved throughout the game. hehe i only found our first base (yellow) when we played our last game (we were red) sad sia.. :P but it was really fun! because you can't actually die. you're just out for 10s before you're alive again. at the end of it they will print a scoresheet for you to see how well you've fared. my accuracy improved from 16- 26%! :) if not for my neighbour my accuracy would have been better cos i was just spamming my ammo at his gun to prevent him to actually coming to life again. :)
school's starting next week and im totally packed. i've got a first aid course on 2/3 so i've gotta find my way down. its like international students day cos so many of us signed up for that day. we're chao muggers man! hahah! jkjk elvine was really funny cos he said that they didnt even know that the specimen they showed us was a kidney and they shot him looks of disbelief! HAHA!

6.30pm @ T1. my flight's at 8.15pm so that means i'll probably have to be there by 6.15 to check-in but i think i'll be there earlier.. loads of things are happening tmr. my bro's got a book launch thing to attend so he wouldn't be able to send me off at the airport so my aunt will be with him. the schedule's real tight but hopefully things will be alright.
mum's luggage handle just broke so they are off to mustafa to buy a new luggage. hopefully they can get the same one as the one i've got. :) light and big. and don't buy cheap luggage from china. argh the one that broke was from china. imitation s@msonite. :P hahah!! but luckily it broke here and not over in melbourne or hobart. that would be a BIG BIG problem.
christina, marcus and ray have left for hobart.

i'm excited! about the plane food/drinks/entertainment. actually just going overseas. but the packing was a terrible headache. it was overwhelming. really. yinjia, next time it will be your turn!! haha plus you wouldnt have hols to come back to bring more stuff.. :S haiya but at least mine's almost done. just left with my jeans which are being altered and the stuff to put into mum's luggage and aunt's.
not bringing many books. just tortora, robbins, wheathers, dorland's dict, netters.
brought 1 pair of sandals, sport shoes, boots, converse sneakers, brown pumps, white pumps, black high heeled shoes. thats like 7 pairs already. how did i count 8 at first.. hmm..
brought a mini induction cooker + pot. hopefully i can fit my kettle in. its cute! :)
brought jeans, shirts, tees, shorts, tailored pants, skirt, socks, leggings, thermals, pullovers, turtlenecks, gloves, beanies, windbreaker etc.. yeah.. still have some spare for me to bring over in june.. change of wardrobe.
bringing my ipod, psp, laptop, pda, spare phone, camera + all their chargers and wires etc.
stationery + foolscap + coloured pens + colour pencils + hole puncher + stapler/staples + files + pins + fasteners
and there are others that i cant think of right now. ><

went to back rg on wed. omg i think its starting to change a lot. :( hopefully when i come back in june it wouldnt have changed beyond recognition and thats when i will stop going back to rgs.
oh gosh that plate of pineapple tarts in front of me is EXTREMELY tempting. i already ate one but there are 5 more. hahahah its not all for me of course. its to be SHARED cos they're really nice and made by auntie jenny! so i shall stop looking at them and think about my green bean cake downstairs.. muahaha.. they simply melt in your mouth and you can actually taste the green bean! unlike those you normally find outside that don't melt but are instead biscuit-hard. ><
ate too much yesterday. argh feeling guilty. pfft. seriously i think with cny coming, its almost impossible to keep yourself away from the goodies! :S lack of self-discipline. sobz. i HAVE TO plan some time once i get to tassie to exercise. be it sat or sun or even before my lessons if they start later!!! last resort will be lunch breaks.. 30min spinning! hehehe thinking of getting the yearly s&r membership. we'll see how things go.
finished watching romantic princess aka gong zhu xiao mei on CR. the ending SUCKS! i mean the ending is expected but how can they just end it like that?! no 3 years later...????? BAH! but at least i've satisfied that curiosity of mine. i can just imagine not watching tv for the next 4 months and just plonking myself in front of the com when i return and just watch for 4 mths fill.. hehehe..! for now.. i shall go mop the floor and eat my green bean cake!

oh gosh that plate of pineapple tarts in front of me is EXTREMELY tempting. i already ate one but there are 5 more. hahahah its not all for me of course. its to be SHARED cos they're really nice and made by auntie jenny! so i shall stop looking at them and think about my green bean cake downstairs.. muahaha.. they simply melt in your mouth and you can actually taste the green bean! unlike those you normally find outside that don't melt but are instead biscuit-hard. ><
ate too much yesterday. argh feeling guilty. pfft. seriously i think with cny coming, its almost impossible to keep yourself away from the goodies! :S lack of self-discipline. sobz. i HAVE TO plan some time once i get to tassie to exercise. be it sat or sun or even before my lessons if they start later!!! last resort will be lunch breaks.. 30min spinning! hehehe thinking of getting the yearly s&r membership. we'll see how things go.
finished watching romantic princess aka gong zhu xiao mei on CR. the ending SUCKS! i mean the ending is expected but how can they just end it like that?! no 3 years later...????? BAH! but at least i've satisfied that curiosity of mine. i can just imagine not watching tv for the next 4 months and just plonking myself in front of the com when i return and just watch for 4 mths fill.. hehehe..! for now.. i shall go mop the floor and eat my green bean cake!
