biostats today was rather thought-provoking for me.

not the lecture itself but rather what the lecturer said bout doing medicine. he taught at nus med for 27 yrs b4 starting sbs.. so yeah.. anw..

1. do not waste your time at sbs if you really want to do med. go overseas.
2. whats so cool bout hanging a steth round your neck.
3. its really competitive. there are so many clinics in the same neighbourhood
4. no life [his student worked from 9am-12mn]
5. research scientists are the ones behind all the discoveries.. doctors just apply them.
6. research n drug discovery in tcm is very hot. got an edge over the 'angmos' because we learnt tcm.

seriously. i dont think i want a doctor's life anymore. i think being a RS is better. you can go in as and when you like, do the things you love too, get grants etc. isn't that the life i like? :) besides i've wanted to be a researcher longer than i've wanted to be a doctor. seriously.

besides im feeling very attached to ntu alr. cant bear to leave it. :( plus im involved in sth big in hall too.. :) *shh cant talk bout it yet*
