here's half of it! him drawing half of it. hehehe..
ok he's starting le! ciao people~!
PS. gonna go to the optometrist and pathology lab later to do my eye test and FBC, Fe studies and TSH tests. gonna lose blood again. boo.

oh man i've been having too much good food these two days! hahaha but of course i'm not really complaining since this is not a frequent phenomenon! =)
went out to drunk3n admiral (again) and had the same seafood sticks on hot rock thing. yummyy..
one stick of scallops. ones stick of sotong. one stick of fish and prawns. with garlic butter and some sauce that tastes oddly like the macs chicken nugget curry. hahaha! although i think it is bbq sauce or sth bah.
arrived at the hotel earlier than expected to pick up kok w33 so we hung around and started camwhoring. the rest are on fb and it's obvious that we were absolutely bored and the freezing wind didnt help with our brains thinking straight too. =) hehehe! although i must say some of the pictures are really pretty!
my pathetic attempt at emoing with the pole.
heeellppp! jeremy was above while we were below and it was fun! had a pic of my posing the the stairs but that wasnt taken properly la.
was quite embarrassing considering how there were people walking past despite us already being at the back of the building. hilarious though. i love taking random photos that arent the usual stand-smile-take type of photos! because there is only so many you can take.
i love randomness and thats why i love us! =)

According to http://www.friendshipstats.com I have 936 friends, 816 more than average. 35% are male, 65% are female. 235 are single, 231 are dating or married. If I contracted a deadly variant of flu, I would likely infect 17 people, 2 of whom would die. When I share something on Facebook, it is typically viewed by 47 people. If I died today, an estimated 768 people would try to attend my funeral. Based on my Facebook profile, I have a 97% probability of getting married. I am likely to earn US$2.7 million and have 2.9 children over my lifetime.
i hope my 'salary' is at least my annual salary! would be great if that is my monthly though! =)

i'm feeling quite good these few days. things seem to be going my way most of the time. =)
and i'm glad it's only saturday! feels like sunday already because i feel like i've done a lot of work already. so knowing that it's actually only saturday actually feels awesome. it's been ages since i've felt this great. maybe it's the yoga. haha! i have no idea. but studying in school after classes end have been really productive and i'm loving it.
this week's the last week of uni before the mid-semester break so i've gotta finish up all the various lectures so that i can actually start mugging for the exam that's coming up one week after the holidays. plus there's still reflective piece to do. and not to forget the various PoA discussion posts. pfft. heaps of work to get done so i hope i wouldn't be too distracted during the holidays!
although having said that, i'm thinking of going down to cascade breweries for the tour with the jane people! =) cos 1. its near to jane 2. its a short tour 3. the gardens there are supposedly really pretty! so this will be my little getaway from work and taking a tour of hobart. it's sad how i've been here for almost 2 years and i havent been anywhere at all! unlike friends who have been here on holidays. they've probably travelled more than me! grr. what sorta shit is this?! i want a car! hahahah!
these few days i've been hearing people talking about moving out of jan3/uni apt etc. and i sit there thinking if i want to move out. yes staying at jan3 might be a THAT little more pricey than moving out but is the hassle/human relationship problems worth it? i don't think so. i know myself. i think if i end up living in an apartment with people, i would end up pissing a few people off (or rather the other way around) so it would not be nice. it's great hanging out as friends but housemates can be a different issue altogether.
so i think i'm sticking to jane. i've got everything i need except a car for convenience sake. what's not to like? besides, there's a shuttle to uni/town and if i get a car, that would solve the awkward hours of some rotations already. =D

"The Winner Takes It All"
I don't wanna talk
About the things we've gone through
Though it's hurting me
Now it's history
I've played all my cards
And that's what you've done too
Nothing more to say
No more ace to play
The winner takes it all
The loser standing small
Beside the victory
That's her destiny
I was in your arms
Thinking I belonged there
I figured it made sense
Building me a fence
Building me a home
Thinking I'd be strong there
But I was a fool
Playing by the rules
The gods may throw a dice
Their minds as cold as ice
And someone way down here
Loses someone dear
The winner takes it all
The loser has to fall
It's simple and it's plain
Why should I complain.
But tell me does she kiss
Like I used to kiss you?
Does it feel the same
When she calls your name?
Somewhere deep inside
You must know I miss you
But what can I say
Rules must be obeyed
The judges will decide
The likes of me abide
Spectators of the show
Always staying low
The game is on again
A lover or a friend
A big thing or a small
The winner takes it all
I don't wanna talk
If it makes you feel sad
And I understand
You've come to shake my hand
I apologize
If it makes you feel bad
Seeing me so tense
No self-confidence
But you see
The winner takes it all
The winner takes it all...
I don't wanna talk
About the things we've gone through
Though it's hurting me

Singapore Night 2009
yesterday was singapore night and it was a great success (phew!)! but yes i am SO glad it is finally over. we were all going nuts soon. but that's not appropriate for public viewing so i shall keep it in. ask me personally if you really want to know but really, i'm just going to let it all go.
made a video (my first!) and i'm quite proud of it actually. i don't care if people disagree. no one wanted to do it so everyone shall just shut up and keep the comments to yourself unless it is about how good it is.
theme was getai so i bought a yellow feather boa from reject shop and wore a dress i already had. =) didn't turn out too bad really. although the feather boa kept sliding off and pissed me off a little so i removed it after a while. only put it back on later for photos etc. lol!
didn't take photos of the food but it was great. especially the dessert. didn't take that many photos with my camera so right now i'm just waiting for people to tag me on facebook. plus chris' camera was the official camera so we'll have to wait for him to upload (which might take a while from experience! grr..)
anw the reason why i'm so glad this is over is because the workload was sort of unevenly shared. i came up with the theme, made the video, found the national anthem vid, had to do all the games by myself and that included ripping songs etc, sourced for some decoration and all the little little things that no one wants to do. and i was supposed to usher, rahrah the crowd before the event, hold the token of appreciation, help the performers with their food, get performers ready, help darren (games emcee) with the games, present the lucky draw prizes, ensure that everything's going alright etc. i dunno la. somehow i felt like i was doing a lot a lot a lot. but of course the other people (some not all) had to go settle stuff with wr3st point which is probably worse than mine la huh. oh well. its over its over its over. stop thinking and harping on it!
but yes. it was a really busy night. even my friends were like 'michelle! go get something to eat! stop running here and there!'
in between my busy-ness, i still managed to get some photos! =) phewww how sad would it be to go and end up without photos at all!
2nd yr meddies! L-R: Cho, Elvin3, Me, Darr3n, K1m
sham!
L-R: joelen3 with jad3's pink feather boa, Me and Marcu5!
the rest are on facebook.
alright. back to work. just a short update for all you wonderful people out there. *muacks*

we just received the national day goodie bag from singapore! =) minus all the food products and i think the fan and batteries.
it's a 2-way bag! quite cute actually. can be a tote or a sling! will take pictures of it when i'm more free. i think i want the hot pink or lime green one. bright wonderful colours! the blue and purple are not too bad too. i think the darker green's not as nice though. but nonetheless, it's good to get the goodie bag!
i think the mr bean drumstick thing is sooo cute. =) although it's not advisable to knock the drum thing with the leaf because it dents the thing! hahaha!

there really isn't any permanence in life. even more so when you're studying overseas. everything changes and you don't feel like you belong despite how well you've assimilated into the lifestyle. but that's a story for another day.
i just found out that some of the supp people failed their supp papers. unfortunately one of them's my close friend. now i feel quite sad because he would so full of shit that sometimes i didn't know what to say to him. i'm already missing him.
i really hate losing friends and classmates this way. i really do. just as you're getting to know them better, they're gone. =(
i'll miss you heaps in class kamal. your nonsense and how you attempt to speak singlish. your horrible sense of timing that caused us to reach Snug at an insane time during rural week and those late night chats during rural week that lead to us spouting nonsense as we were too tired to think properly. you were always the one that broke the silence.
i'll always rmb the first time i saw you with your big hair and cap. (damn i don't have a picture of that!) i'll rmb how you cooked your pasta and wedges, how you attempted to light the fireplace (LOL!). those were good times.
hope to see you around soon bro. i really do miss seeing you around in class.

went out for dinner with r7an today. it was actually not as awkward as i thought it would be!
i don't know about you but i find guys opening the doors for you, pulling the chair out for you etc really nice and refreshing for a change! lol! i know this sounds really retarded but it really makes you feel special even if you're not. haha! it's the little things that count! =)
we had garlic bread for starters and then along came our smoked salmon pizza with capers on a tomato base!

i had seafood marinara spaghetti which was yummyyy. seriously one of the nicer pastas if eaten (not that i have eaten that many pastas apart from the ones mum makes!)

it had prawns, REAL crab meat and squid pieces! usually i would go with the creamy ones but this was one that i actually enjoyed. not too sour with the right balance of flavours. i think there was white wine in it too.
he had the fungi/chicken cream based one.
mine looks nicer right? lol!
it was a nice night out. headed over to woolies to grab some laundry detergent, softener, cherry tomatoes and strawberries. =)
now back to studying. *groans*
going down to the red cross tmr to interview some elderly person for our assignment. hopefully they will agree! *fingers crossed* this assignment is due mid august so we better start on it soon! argh stupid extra unit that we sort of have to do. >.<

today has been a very good day if i can say so myself. considering how unstable i've been the past few days. to be honest, i'm really grateful that so far, there's always someone there who will bring me out of my misery. seriously, i didn't expect r7an to be this nice to me. he called to make sure i was alright and even offered to come pick me up to bring me over to christ coll3ge just so that i had company. all these despite him having his own set of problems.
why is it that whenever i find someone to rely upon, that person disappears? sort of. used to be dav1na at one point, then s1nhui/j3ss, 5uman etc. no wonder i've been feeling lonely. and plus now that jerem7's in singapore doing his placement, that's one less person too. =(
been reading jessi3's blog and i understand what she means by not wanting to impose on other people your problems but sometimes i just need someone to be blunt and tell me things straight in the face the things that i've been in denial about.
us in happier times.
PS. i'm so glad i'm talking to davina again. =) miss you girl.

the only reason why i love medical insurance companies is because of the freebies we get from them! although it is free publicity for them! for this Avant event, we had free lunch and all these free gifts! oh i forgot to put my green stress ball there too! but basically, i received a water bottle (that doesn't leak and taste plasticky), two measuring tapes, two card retractable holder things, 3 pens (these free pens are always very nice to write with! one's in my pencil case), one note pad and a recyclable bag! how awesome is this?
today has been a good day. =) went for bikram yoga in the morning and i thought i was going to die halfway through when i felt like i couldn't breathe because the air was so hot (it was hot yoga!). my head started to spin and i felt nauseous. ouch. squatted down for a while and then it went away. it's supposedly because of all the toxins. *shrugs* it's hard to reconcile what you've learnt in class with all these alternative medicine stuff really.
we might just sign up for the monthly $55 thing because it is originally $156/mth but because we're below 23, it's $55 only! wow. plus if we can sort out with sabin and gang transport issues, it might be even better! =) imagine exercising with your classmates! need to mix around more and not hang out with the asians too much. gets a little political sometimes (as all social groups become after a while).
headed over to chemist warehouse and got myself some more vit c tabs. it was to valley girl (clothes/accessories shop) but the prices were not to my liking. =( decided to head over to salamanca (saturday market) (YAY FINALLY!). we were looking for the tea thing that chr1stina was talking about but we couldn't find it. boo. the bratwurst stalls along the way were sooo tempting because we were so hungry! i had to be pulled away from the tempura mushroom stall! nooo.. hahaha!
walked back for steamboat lunch at 2! as we were crossing the road, i saw an asian third yr med guy (who's your boy-next-door type!) crossing in the opposite direction. i think he might have recognised me or something cos we both turned and looked at each other after we crossed. it was quite funny. cos chr1stina was like 'hmm i think he finds you familiar too!' lol! yeah saw him once at the mac lab in medsci while waiting for dissection or something. james was sitting between us so we sort of had a three-way conversation. never quite figured out his name though. i THINK its dominic. not sureeee..
anyway, steamboat lunch was alright. brought my tomyum paste down so it was more shiok. hehehe! ate quite a bit. finally asian-y food! almost true-blue! cuttlefish balls, seafood tofu, tau kee, golden mushroom, chicken, crab stick, prawn, cabbage, button mushroom etc!
now im so full. lol. i think im going to sleep first. wake up in a bit to study! hahahaha!
michelle is finally a relatively happy girl.

it's when you're sick when you really miss having someone around who can care for you. =(
i just want someone to hug. boo. oh well. i've got my new fluffy pillow.
i really don't like it when people are like 'go do this.' and 'go do that.' sometimes i feel rather unappreciated because i do things silently. some of the things are so minor, i really wonder why can't they just do it themselves? some things are so disorganised that i can't stand it. at least after i typed out the plan, things looked slightly better and i could get my head around it.
i'm tired. i want to disappear. and reappear once all these are over.
Sunday, July 19, 2009
i don't know how i should react to the news of my friends actually having swine flu right now. and these friends happen to be doing med as well so they're my coursemates! damn convention! why did they have to get it there (brisban3!) so now i'm not sure if what i have is piggy flu or not!
been taking my meds and i should have gotten a bigger bottle of the cough mixture now that i see the level inside decreasing at an alarming rate. i forgot how much 15ml really is since we always just guestimate using the table spoon. might grab more on tues when i'm down for clinical skills.
there's so much to be done yet i'm not in the mood health to do them. at least i've finished my integrated pract sheet for tmr so i'm feeling less stressed now but i know i still have all the lectures untouched. besides, i think i should read the textbook since the notes are giving me a headache right now. *faints*
caught HP yest and when it ended, i felt a little incomplete/cheated, like 'that's it?!' no spoilers here but it was a waste of my money. they should get michael bay to direct it or something. at least i think i can expect better action from him (look at transformers!).
singapore night's coming up and our theme is getai! lol! sounds quite cute right? at first we were going with pirates but i was a little unhappy with it. nonetheless we went ahead because we were all stoned and after that jerem7 realised how difficult it would be to do that so we brainstormed again online and viola! getai! more local and sounds exciting actually! have to go find obiang things to decorate with and dress up! think feather boas and bright lights and loads of sequins! ;)
okok here's just a list for me to tick off what i need to do. although with the meds i just took which happen to be ALL drowsy formulas, i dont think i will survive it all. we'll see how it goes.
- read talley for GIT exam
- oral cavity histology
- oesophagus and stomach histology
- anatomy of oral cavity, pharynx and oesophagus
- anatomy of stomach
- H. pylori
- mouth, salivary gland pathology
- Upper GI pathologies and malabsorption syndromes
- macro/micro nutrients
- GI control and co-ordination
- age, sex and cultural diversity of aging
boo.. shall start now. =( the post-lunch sleepiness has hit too. dang. *trudges through unwillingly*

acquired the book '7 habits of highly effective people' just before i returned. dad had been wanting me to read the book umpteen times before but i just couldn't be bothered. it's one of those things that you need to want to do yourself. really pointless in forcing because it won't work and i wouldn't be bothered to read since i'm not interested in it.
anyway thats besides the point. ever since i started uni, i haven't had time to read much else besides my notes and textbooks. but this book is really one book that i think everyone should read it. it's easy to read and it makes heaps of sense. makes you realise what's wrong in your character/life/decisions etc.
i'm only on chapter two (i think!) but i'm slowly seeing things in different ways. it might sound incredulous to some that a book can have such an impact on someone's life but hey, no harm applying what you've learnt if it doesn't harm anyone! for all you know, it might change your life too!

got this pair of shoes from queensway the other day! its the adidas grafeeteez! it's customisable with those rub-on stickers! how cool is that! i was like 'yes! this is awesome!' and set my mind to it. cost me $39.90 because it was half-priced.
anyway, i didnt realise that it was a pair of kids shoes until i googled it this morning! lol! who cares. as long as it fits my feet! =)
there are other designs such as basketball court, castle etc but i thought this was more pastel and prettier!
flying back tmr already. so soon! nooo.. =( i miss slacking around.
saw the names of the people in my new cbl and i guess they are alright. life can't be always smooth sailing. hahaha!

between then and now, i've watched ice age, gone out with ys and pam, bought my books, going out with 409 today, going out with the cruise people tmr, attended christina's party, finished watching boys before flowers, bought 3 pairs of footwear and gone to msia!
these 3 weeks have passed by so quickly! results would be out tmr. *shudders* but i guess i just want to know whether i've passed or not. if so, what's the score! hahaha. but of course passing is the top priority!
i still remember when i came back one yr ago, everything felt so surreal. it was as if my life in tasmania did not exist at all. almost like i dreamt it all. but now i don't feel that way anymore. Having been there for 1.5yrs, it has become more real and I've missed home so much more this time around.
3.5 years to go. before i know it, its over! time passes especially quickly when you're kept busy.
i've really miss being around people that i can be myself with. just being crazy and feeling loved and cared for regardless of what happens. you know who you girls are! =) *hugs* we'll survive the distance/stress/uni together!
on a really random note. i think j co donuts are really nice. maybe even better than donut factory.
and i really dun like the rain. boo! can't do nothing!
Sunday, June 28, 2009
there's so much to blog about but i'm just too lazy too! probably because there's more to do in singapore than tasmania. lol!
anyway! transformers was nice! action packed + drool worthy cars + indestructible robots + hot bods = 2.5h kept on the edge of my seat! seriously, the critics are too harsh on this movie! compared to changeling which was the same length, i think transformers kept me awake! adrenaline rush! woohoo! damn high!
megan fox is hottt. omg. i'd turn les for someone like her. really. hahaha! anyone disagrees?
i still need to go buy my books! can't believe i'm already flying back next friday! so fast! nooo.. which means the start of THE insane semester! *faints* try fitting GIT, repro and UT into one semester! not exactly looking forward to it. if i had no life last semester, i'll probably be a ghost this coming semester!
Wednesday, June 24, 2009
so far i've indulged in dimsum buffet, duck rice, tze char, fish head steamboat, old chang kee, mee sua, curry chicken noodle, chendol, ice jelly, bak chor mee, milo dinosaur, pork porridge, sambal stingray, oyster egg, ban mian etc! lost count already! whoops!
going out later to watch transformers with a car enthusiast (aka marcu5)! haha! it's going to be interesting with him gushing all about the cars after the movie i think! :P curled my hair on monday so now it's slightly wavy. not ah-ma/auntie style (hopefully!) but i wish my hair was slightly longer so that it would look more like the japanese type.
looking at my booklist, i dont think i have many books to buy this time around! which means i'll have more space for other things! yay! =)
alright i shall go play with my nails now. since i really have nothing to do atm which is really really enjoyable. 1st break in 4 months. just going to relax in my little corner for 3 weeks.

it's finally over~!! so excited! hahaha! =))
had nando's after the exam and now i'm actually feeling really tired but i've still got to pack my luggage and fold all my washings. because i only managed to do them this morning. =S
i'll be breathing in hot humid singapore air in about 28h! nice nice!
seriously i'm so sleepy. i'm not sure how i'm going to be able to enjoy harry's party if i go. boo.. *snores* we'll see. for now, i've got 45min to do all my packing now! chiong ah!

tmr's the day we've all been waiting for! omg i can't believe it's finally here after a lonnnggg wait! it didnt even seem this long last year! i think maybe because it wasn't. hahaha!
i'll be done at about 1.30pm and we're going shopping! or rather just getting out of the room which i've lived out for the past few weeks. felt so nice to walk out of jane yesterday to bring jorj1 in. hahaha! harry's party tmr too! i think we'll probably go and then head back because elvin3 doesn't want to stay. which is a good idea too considering how the flight is going to be sooo long. argh. yucks. thats the only thing i hate about studying overseas. the flights. but it's not as bad if there's someone coming back with you! =)
my brain's are fried already. i'm just so over it. i wouldn't be surprised if people didn't really study for this simply because it's dragged on for far too long. i'm actually starting to hate CAM201. let it be over like NOW!
looking at pink and purple slides again. nothing much is going into my head already. it's closed for the day. >< i need to go shower. argh and grab myself a cup of hot chocolate too (thanks elvin3 for the cadbury choc powder!).
i need a break badly. stoned liao. pray for me! i'll need all the luck i'm able to harness for tmr's paper!

i know this sounds really silly but i'm suddenly reinspired to study again just because i realised that outta the 4 of us, i'm the one with the highest score so far (94.535%), after minusing the marks lost out of the 25% that we've already completed (presentations and midsemester exam)!
hahaha! so retarded right. why am i so competitive? arghh i just need to pass! i need to get that into my head. can't expect to be top everytime can i? that's extra stress for me! booo...

I've always wondered how much one should give in a relationship. 101%? 110% or even 200%?
I was enlightened yesterday.
The answer was so simple and in-your-face that it made so much sense.
---
don't you agree? that's what being together means. braving whatever comes your way together, cheering each other on and being there when the going gets tough.
it takes a lot of effort to make it work. it takes proper communication. it takes trust. it requires faith. it's more than just two people being together physically. it's an emotional investment.
i know this sounds super pessimistic but 99% of the time when you get together with someone, there would be an end? break up, divorce, separation - you name it. even marriage isn't forever nowadays. commitment? what's that? a promise? promises can be broken (unfortunately).
no wonder love is an impermanence. key to making marriage work is loving the one you marry. but i guess before that, you're free to choose properly. >< grocery shopping? like how all the aunties squeeze the fruits at the supermarkets.
I was enlightened yesterday.
The answer was so simple and in-your-face that it made so much sense.

''i think the % fluctuates. but the other half should complement it and make it a 100 at all times. like maybe today im feeling down.. then i only wanna give 1%. so the other half will try means and ways to make the 99% so u can cheer up, feel loved and so on.''

don't you agree? that's what being together means. braving whatever comes your way together, cheering each other on and being there when the going gets tough.
it takes a lot of effort to make it work. it takes proper communication. it takes trust. it requires faith. it's more than just two people being together physically. it's an emotional investment.
i know this sounds super pessimistic but 99% of the time when you get together with someone, there would be an end? break up, divorce, separation - you name it. even marriage isn't forever nowadays. commitment? what's that? a promise? promises can be broken (unfortunately).
no wonder love is an impermanence. key to making marriage work is loving the one you marry. but i guess before that, you're free to choose properly. >< grocery shopping? like how all the aunties squeeze the fruits at the supermarkets.

here's a post to push down the horrible ugly picture of me looking chubby. hahaha!
anw life's been going well in most aspects of life i should say.
we had a mini cook out on wed and thurs! wed's was in my room while we went over to elvin3's on thurs.
teriyaki chicken, sambal french beans, omelette with onion and french beans, salmon with avocado and of course rice!
me being greedy as usual. there was soup as well but it was in the rice cooker and we were too full to actually drink it that night. had it the next day but i didnt take a picture of it. =(
headed over to elvin3's on thurs and we had okonomiyaki, chicken rice and sago + gula melaka/coconut milk!
just add water, eggs, flour, cabbage, mushroom and whatever else you want in it! we had seafood marinara in it this time around together with mushrooms and cabbage. =)
chilli, ginger, garlic, lemon juice, sugar, water, salt!
tomato, onion. carrots!
we ended the night with loads of washing up, playing with elvin3's reclining sofas, watching horror movie The Apartment and then Secret. in between, darr3n tried to get us to drink vodka lemonade but no one was really in the mood because we were supposed to go to the dissection lab the next day. left at 3.30 and crashed immediately. only woke up at 10+ the next day to elvin3's call to ask us to go to dissection lab! hahaha! i'm surprised we were actually quite alert. i think if we slept over, it would be impossible to get us off the couch in the first place.
i really love my coursemates although sometimes i really wonder how long this friendship will last.
was feeling a little depressed today and looked through my msn list. there really wasn't anyone i wanted/could bug. there were a few in mine like you guys but you weren't online at that time. really felt like shit. i think my mood swings become much worse when it's time to go home. time slows to a crawl and days seem like months.
sometimes i just want to crawl under my blanket and cry my woes away; hug my pillow and not have to face the world. i want someone i can depend on in times of need, someone to cry on when i'm sad, someone to just be there for me despite all the shit i'll be giving that person.
can you see netters there! studying makes people go insane.Wednesday, June 10, 2009
like my chinese isn't cui enough, i agreed to help my friend with this. i'm gonna die. 13 paragraphs of proper chinese without much hesitation! dieeeeeeee la. and this is only paragraph one! not even sure if you guys can understand me! whoops!

winter's depressing. like really. why do i say that? well, take a look at the view outside my room NOW. its 5.20pm. no kidding. i have no idea why would anyone want to visit australia during winter! its such a waste of money since shops close much earlier and the day ends super early!
and it's been raining and raining and raining. no snow. just rain. pfft. snow would make life slightly more exciting during this boring period of exams. =(
tmr's the big paper! hopefully all goes well! and then it'll be almost time to go home....!! i really hate T1 exams to the core. it just seems as if it's never going to end. ever. what with exam papers 1cm thick, excluding the OAS etc.
back to the books! just wanted to share my little gloomy world with the brighter world out there.

If you're not the one, then why does my soul feel glad today?
If you're not the one, then why does my hand fit yours this way?
If you are not mine, then why does your heart return my call?
If you you are not mine, would I have the strength to stand at all?
I never know what the future brings
But I know you're here with me now
We'll make it through and I hope
You are the one I share my life with
I don't wanna run away but I can't take it, I don't understand
If I'm not made for you, then why does my heart tell me that I am?
Is there anyway that I can stay in your arms?
If I don't need you, then why am I crying on my bed?
If I don't need you, then why does your name resound in my head?
If you're not for me, then why does this distance maim my life?
If you're not for me, then why do I dream of you as my wife?
I don't know why you're so far away
But I know that this much is true
We'll make it through and I hope
You are the one I share my life with
And I wish that you could be the one I die with
And I pray that you're the one I build my home with
I hope I love you all my life
I don't wanna run away but I can't take it, I don't understand
If I'm not made for you, then why does my heart tell me that I am?
Is there anyway that I can stay in your arms?
'Cause I miss your body and soul so strong
That it takes my breath away
And I breath you into my heart
And I pray for the strength to stand today
'Cause I love you whether it's wrong or right
And though I can't be with you tonight
And though my heart is by your side
I don't wanna run away but I can't take it, I don't understand

popcorn's today's supper with some cake thing which i didnt eat cos im not hungry. i'm just being a typical singapore, taking my share of what's given. the muesli bar's from tea and this is my second one cos i ate one then. banana and orange for REAL fibre i guess. vitamins?
snickers are simply for my sweet tooth. or teeth. depending on how big my cravings are i guess.
whee~! food makes me happy.
oh yes. this is the banana smoothie thing.
it is already wednesday which means that half of swotvac is already gone! this is unfair considering how my saturday was eaten by osce! i am deprived of one day of studying! noo...
haven't felt as motivated this semester at all. it seems like its so much to study for and it's going to take forever it seems. although i have already covered most of my sciencey work once. minus anatomy/histology/immuno/biochem which are only going to make up 23/170 of my paper! and the number of lectures DO NOT justify the time i would have to put in for this. zzz. as compared to pathology which takes up 42, physiology 36, pharmacology 30 and microbio 21.
now you understand?
=P
i just love how they break down the marks for us so that we know where to concentrate on. unlike last yr. pfft.
alright. better head back to studying. sorta made banana icecream/smoothie thing yesterday. mashed bananas and added milk and froze it partially. rather yummy but it looks disgusting. hahaha!
swotvac is the best time to grow fat seriously. with 5 meals a day, who can resist?! wheee~!
*nooo... i dont wanna grow fatter!
**argh forget it. my brain needs food.

yay osce's are over! it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be i guess. i'll pass. =) and its just 10% anyway. so now i already have 35% of my marks in the bag. another 65% to go!
1. Spirometry - was asked about how we would prep the patient, instructions and all. contraindications. we were then given a flow-volume curve and asked what the pathology is. anything to look out for that would invalidate the test.
2. history taking (cvs) - patient didnt have much for me to explore which was irritating. not sure if we needed to make a diagnosis cos i didnt. besides, it wasn't written on the sheet as far as i can remember. >< but i think i covered everything so that's fine.
3. respiratory exam - ran outta time at the end. just before i did the JVP. was auscultating the anterior chest when the bell went. but forgot to mention that i'll do the JVP but said i'll check the ankles for swelling or signs of peripheral cyanosis.
4. written exam (Infective Endocarditis - i think!) - one of the more stressful stations simply because i wasn't sure if i wrote enough.
5. ECG - guessed wrongly! said 2nd degree instead of 3rd degree. but i think apart from that, all's good. maybe a little shaky on the cardiac output qn - whether it would increase or decrease. oh well..
overall i think i did relatively well. yeah i'll definitely pass for sure. which really is enough for me. i'm not expecting too much this year. because it really is an insane year.
now for studying proper. cheonging again! =) wish me luck!

*freaks out!*
ok i guess its not THAT bad but i'm just being my usual flustered self before the exam. *recalls how i almost had a nervous breakdown before my driving test*
gonna head back to my books to get some last minute cramming of ECG and spirometry as well as some clinical signs into my head. and run through what i can ask for a history as well. dang! so much to do, so little time! noo....
jiayou! =) i'll cya in a while peeps..

my attempt at prawn paste chicken! =) it actually tasted quite decent!
didnt have prawn paste so i used fermented beancurd which people usually eat with porridge. added black pepper, salt and sugar and allowed it to marinate for about 1h.
would be better if i had eggwash and more than just cornflour. so at least the flour would stick better and it probably wouldnt appear THIS pale.
nonetheless, it was awesome! i know i had a flair for cooking. hahaha! just kidding.
and why waste the oil when i've got a banana sitting right there waiting to be eaten?

tried to make the sago pudding! and realised i dont have a sieve so that was quite interesting. hahaha!
anw the most exciting part would be trying to make REAL caramel (yummy!) without burning the place down. first try was quite funny cos it became concentrated yet not yet caramelised. so when i poured it out, it crystallised immediately in my container! i was like SHIT. now what.
so i decided i should attempt to caramelise it. so found this recipe which sounded nice. so i added water to the super huge block of sugar, melted it down again. this time it worked! there was this line in the instructions that freaked me out a little.
"6. Once sugar has reached the temperature, or proper colour, remove the pot from the heat and add the cup of water quickly and place the lid over the pot. CAUTION! Adding water to hot sugar results in a lot of sputtering and steaming. The steam and flying blobs of hot sugar can burn, so use your oven mitts and stay back once you add the water."
i was like what?! thankfully i figured that i should put my pot under the hot water dispenser and just press the button. and it worked! hahahaha! so yes thats the trick to making perfect caramel! add a little water at the end! =)

at first i didnt add enough water so when i poured the caramel onto my cold sago, it solidified! then i added more and thankfully it remained a liquid. =P wonders of science and experimenting.
ok my sago is green because i think colourless sago looks ugly with condensed milk. i've still some sense of presentation alright. imagine what it will look like! considering my bowl is white too! eww.. not appealing at all!

just as you thought you've had enough of me cooking.. i've got more up my sleeve! hahahaha!
to be honest, this semester has been so much easy because i've cooked. just being able to eat proper asian fare is such a delight. i have no idea how i managed to survive last yr eating just jane food. whoops!

my chicken rendang! but of course i have to give credit to my wonderful partner in crime!
before you all call me a cheat, everyone does this anyway! hahahahah!
chicken congee! perfect during winter.. preferably eaten off the stove.. cos it cools down sooo quickly! darn! hahahaha! chicken + rice + water + 1+h + soy sauce = yummy chicken porridge!
