my timetable and cbl grouping are out! =) and i'm actually very happy with it. [last name/first name]
  1. Burn5 Nathan (together with me in previous CBL. *he has a nipple piercing*)
  2. Francesc0ni Car1a (PhD graduate)
  3. Mulcah7 Anth3a (super funny and enthusiastic girl)
  4. Thom Alex (was in my dissection group)
  5. Verma Kamal (kamal's just kamal.)
  6. Warner Jenny (was in dissection table next to me and one of the few people i got to know first through fb)
  7. Webb Rebekah
  8. Woodford Richard (ex-jane resident! my car pool buddy! always tompang him back to jane for lunch)
  9. Woolveridge Georgina (bubbly girl with inexhaustible source of energy)
i've spoken to all of them except rebekah. so thats cool. but i've been in the same slot for the cancer council thing so its not like we don't know the existence of each other.

and just as i had expected, elvin3's in CBL 2 while i'm in 3! so that means we're in the same 1/3 or 1/2 of the cohort! yay! which is good if he decides to drive down to school etc. or wadeva, i'll still have someone to walk back to jane with me! chri5tina's in 10 this time around. =D

instead, i've seen a few new names in other CBLs. were there THAT many retainees?!

anyway, presenting my timetable!

personally, i think it's still rather slack as compared to last semester. although i should count the number of hours. maybe this isnt the full load yet because there isnt any dissection practicals scheduled as well as presentations. yes this must be it.

looks like this semester is going to be a blast! yippee~! and there's going to be rural week up in launceston or burnie! HAHA! how awesome is that! a 'holiday'! i'm starting to feel more useful as a medical student already! wahahaha..

just one more week before i get back to cool, fresh, freezing breezy hobart!

seriously?! wouldnt a keyboard make things easier than spinning the blardy wheel? considering how irritated i am when i spin my ipod while playing solitaire, i dont think i will actually buy this thing.

that guy in the video took 45min to type an email that wasn't that long. i think i probably would have taken 10min (or even shorter) if i were him! i've got 10 fingers which are able to work the QWERTY keyboard as compared to one index finger busy spinning that wheel. alright maybe another 1-2 fingers if you're trying to search your laptop so you need to hold down at 2 different points and still click the centre button.

imagine someone writing a 2000 word essay. on the average, words contain about 6 letters. so that makes approximately 12000 letters, not including punctuation and spaces. how many spins am i supposed to make in order to complete this assignment?!

instead of inventing something like that, they should make a laptop thats similar to the iphone. THAT is something i would consider. a laptop that is just a larger version of the iphone. no hinges, just one panel. and the keyboard can be 'kept away' with the swipe of a finger. now THIS idea is awesome (i think). not THAT!

the only problem would be fingerprints on your oh-so-pretty screen.

oh but wait! you've got uber intelligent people who invent things like this!

what is this world coming to?

Recruit Sushi

once upon a time, a half-eaten rainbow sushi from sakae was enlisted into the army. unfortunately, since it was soo colourful, it had a hard time during field camps!

that's recruit sushi trying to put on the camo thats next to him.

thats his pathetic attempt at the camo. how to fight like that? he's sure to be caught by the enemy! someone teach him how to do it properly please!

now that's recruit sushi with the helmet (teriyaki chicken) and his little rifle (satay stick)!

how would you rate his camo?

mummy, next time, just eat it, will you? =)

got my paycheck a few days ago! $406! so i wanted to go spend it on something that would make me happy! maybe some clothes, shoes, bags etc. and i've always wanted to have a look at the branded stuff like LV and Chanel. i think i've been hanging out too much with marcu5! haha!

anyway, mum and i headed down to lucky plaza at first to have a look at the second hand branded goods. seriously, there isnt much point since the designs are limited and the condition might not be the best. so we decided to head over to taka and have a look at the REAL first hand goods. =)

finally realised that my mum was more hip than i thought! gucci, ferragamo, LV, bally etc. i should go ransack her cupboard one day! hahaha! clean them all up and flaunt them to the world!

wanted to buy this bag (below) but it didnt have a zip. besides, jad3 has it already. this one was about $1170.

we went around looking for mum's saddle bag and we found the smaller version of it! and it already costs like $1600+! too bad they no longer manufacture the size mum had.

couldnt decide what to buy so we headed over to chanel to take a look.

almost walked out immediately! now i know why LV has so many more customers! because its still affordable as compared to Chanel!

this one cost about $4000+.

*faints*

headed to coach but the designs in coach weren't that nice too. there was a nice jacket but erm i didnt even dare to look at the price of it.

ogled at jimmy choo shoes and glanced at agnes b bags.

popped by bottega veneta and omg i almost died (once more) when i saw the price for the simple diary. $800+!!

now i absolutely understand why there is a black market out there for imitation goods. although i think i would want a hermes birkin. or at least see/touch one within this lifetime.

we didnt even dare walk into the hermes shop!

the birkin looks nice though! perfect for me since i totally adore big bags where i can just dump everything inside but absolutely regret it later when it weighs a ton and gives me a bad shoulderache at the end of the day. nonetheless, i shall aspire to own one one fine day. maybe without all the exotic skin. a simple one will do.

maybe something just like that. =)

now will someone please indulge me?
just watched 'the curious case of benjamin button'!

omg the movie was soo long but it was nice yet sad at times! it reminded me of one of the tv advertisements (was it mercedes?) that ran not too long ago. about how it would be to be born old and then grow younger so that you can live life to the fullest?

although this concept is impossible, i think that it actually makes sense.

just think about it. when we are all young and full of vitality, we are prisoners and slaves to the economy and society. we work 24/7, striving hard to save enough for our golden years. we run the rat race with millions of other people out there, oblivious to the sorry state that we are in. and we wonder why is it that the rich only get richer while the poor become poorer. but that is another story for yet another time. right now, i'm supposed to talk about how life should begin the other way around.

yet many a time, by the time we retire, our health isnt as good as before. we might suffer from dementia, causing us to forget who we are, what we were, where we are and who we've become. our dreams of before become nothing more than a lost memory. we live out our lives sitting in front of the television watching moving creatures crawl before our eyes. we hear but we do not listen. we look but we do not see. its a sad drama played out on life's stage. yet all of us have a role to play which we are unable to turn down. we morph from the baby that pisses-the-shit-out-of-everyone-but-because-is-too-cute-to-kill to the old baby that pisses-the-shit-out-of-everyone-who-cant-wait-to-kill-it.

however, in this world of benjamin button, as we grow older younger, we are able to enjoy our lives to the fullest extent, dying only as the cute baby that will forever be in everyone's mind. all our accumulated fortune over our lifetime will be spent wisely and with the body and spirit of a youthful person, we can accomplish our dreams with vigour and passion. isn't this so much better than what life is right now?

its hard to think of death being painless. the only painless way i can think of would be in our sleep. suffocating, choking, poisoned, heart attack, gun shot, slashed, accident, cancer etc. the list goes on. none of these are appealing enough and i dont want to die in these manners. but we cant choose how we're going to die. but we can choose one thing.

how we want to be remembered after we die.

do we want to be anonymous?
or do we want to be remembered for doing great things, for contributing so much to society that our names go down in history?
or do we want to be hated forever for all the sins we have committed?

i know what i want. do you?

Let me hold you
For the last time
It's the last chance to feel again
But you broke me
Now I can't feel anything

When I love you,
It's so untrue
I can't even convince myself
When I'm speaking,
It's the voice of someone else

Oh it tears me up
I try to hold on, but it hurts too much
I try to forgive, but it's not enough to make it all okay

You can't play on broken strings
You can't feel anything that your heart don't want to feel
I can't tell you something that ain't real

Oh the truth hurts
And lies worse
How can I give anymore
When I love you a little less than before

Oh what are we doing
We are turning into dust
Playing house in the ruins of us

Running back through the fire
When there's nothing left to save
It's like chasing the very last train when it's too late

Oh it tears me up
I try to hold on, but it hurts too much
I try to forgive, but it's not enough to make it all okay

You can't play on broken strings
You can't feel anything that your heart don't want to feel
I can't tell something that ain't real

Well the truth hurts,
And lies worse
How can I give anymore
When I love you a little less than before

But we're running through the fire
When there's nothing left to save
It's like chasing the very last train
When we both know it's too late (too late)

You can't play on broken strings
You can't feel anything that your heart don't want to feel
I cant tell you something that ain't real

Well truth hurts,
And lies worse
How can I give anymore
When I love you a little less than before

Let me hold you for the last time
It's the last chance to feel again

just got back from 3lvine's house! so i got to see his parents! hahah!

had bbq, yusheng, noodles, fried rice, homemade kuehs etc! damn shiok sia. his house is hugeee.. and he has like 4 plots of land. 2 of them 15000sqft and 2 20000sqft. *faints* one is already finished but is still empty. we had our party in no. 29 while no.27 is under renovation.

view from his room towards the main house. his room is detached from the house so if it rains, he actually has to run to his room in the rain! haha!

wanna see his toilet?

this is what a bath tub model will look like. =)

oh wait i dont think i mentioned the cars right?

from left: ferrari F360, maserati, porsche 911

and they still have one more benz.

someone just kill me now.

his living room in the main house.

this is the dining room. kitchen + another dining table behind that brown door.

the half way point from the entrance to the living area. behind us through that door is an outdoor toilet. =)

sinhui! my 'les' partner! =) the following pictures are evidence..

the other camwhoring photos are up on fb. =)

oh might be going to batam for spa with sinhui next week! since she knows the place and stuff, it should be alright! now we're just waiting for her friend to reply her and then we'll see what happens from there! maybe even stay one night so that we can play longer! whee~!

its less than 3 weeks till i head back and i can't wait to go back!

to be really honest, i'm bored to death here. i have absolutely no idea how i've managed to survive the past 2 mths doing almost nothing! i'll wake up at about 9.30am, play computer/watch tv till lunch, sit in the car till dinner, watch tv, play com/chat, sleep.

thats my daily routine. sometimes i feel like just going back to tasmania. at least i can go unpack my room and do something!

i want to go out and do something! anything!

some people have travelled more in this 3 mth than i have in the past err maybe all the way back to p5 or even earlier? i just feel like this holiday has been an absolute waste of time. maybe next time i'll just stay in tasmania and work. probably even more fruitful than what i'm doing now.

if i had all the money in the world, i would want to travel to all the continents in the world. right now i'm just stuck here, dreaming of going to genting or somewhere nearby. yet there's no one who wants to go too! =(

these days, life's really tiring. its much easier just shutting up and being a loner. doing things that i like and not having to bother about other people. thats why living in hall can be both good and bad. most people are just putting up a facade so that all can get along well to minimise any conflict but time will reveal their true characters.

yay! may, ruth, lydia and myself!

its only when i see people that i recognise from rgs that i feel i actually spent 4 years there. now to come to think of it, perhaps it wasn't that bad. i should hang out with the rgs people more. =) since we're mostly studying the same things plus we have the same mentality. sometimes it feels like we never left or changed (although we know thats not possible)

one day, when we look back, we will realise what a long way we've all come.

thanks pam for the lovely lip balm! banana-flavoured summore!

PS. you'll all have me on your lips. hahahahah! constantly reminded eh?

Saturday, January 24, 2009

just finished reading 'absolute boyfriend' yesterday! storyline was rather lame since it involved a high school girl about 16yo but i think the drama was slightly better since it was based on adults instead of high school kids. =D although it took a while to get used to not knowing the second male protagonist as her neighbour.

right now im reading death note! nice nice! hopefully i'll be done soon.. want to watch the movies too!

work today was alright. i think my fuse is getting shorter since im talking back to the passengers when they get a little unreasonable. seriously, do you think we enjoy collecting your passports? do you think we love having such a long queue and making passengers unhappy?

there're space constraints and if we werent constrained by resources, i'm sure we will have as many agents as we can to make things much smoother. by the way, sometimes its the passengers themselves who do not cooperate! by not filling up the immigration forms, by not signing, by losing their E/D cards, by having troublesome group visas etc. dang! seriously, we should be the ones being pissed off at you people since you should have filled up the forms right at the beginning where the line agents are!

*grumble grumble*

well at least disembarkation today was fine. =D

*thank god im not working on CNY day 2. loads of ahti0ngs = loads of trouble esp visa problems. besides, they arent as cooperative as the japanese! the japanese are quiet, obedient and cooperative! total opposites man.. so you can go think about it. discounted price but trade-off's them. hahaha! twice the number today.. about 700 of them (which is about half the normal capacity. usually's about 1600+)

i had the weirdest dreamt last night. omg dreamt that someone died in an accident. it was so real that even when i woke up im wondering if she's dead or alive. >< not a very good omen eh?

i was going about doing my own things and was gonna ask her to do something when someone else told me that she just died in an accident not too long ago. it was like *gasps*! it happened so suddenly that i didnt even have time to assimilate the information. the weird part was my reaction. it was more like "oh, hmm, alright then." plus the empty feeling of your friend suddenly not being there anymore.

guess the recent deaths of two RI boys have gotten to me. suddenly realising that your friends may just leave you anytime due to various reasons. all the more you should treasure them while you're still friends/around.

friendships are hard to maintain and it takes effort and all parties to make it work. we have to be realistic about our expectations. thats why the three of us are still tgt. =D we dont demand unrealistic things from each other and its just so great to hang out together because we've seen the bad and the worst of each other (almost!) and we dont have to bother about how we appear to one another. just crazy and random!

ok just realised this post is going off topic liao. hahaha!

obama's inauguration was so touching. you could see the hope, faith, optimism in the eyes of the people. the prayers and speeches were so empowering!

watching the flag fly high and listening to the navy seals sing the star spangled banner gave me goosebumps but in a good way. just like how i felt when i saw the singapore leg of the F1 race. the sense of pride and achievement for having come a long way since the days of black slavery, racism and inequality.

to be able to choose your leaders freely
to be able to envision a better future even when the future looks bleak
to embrace differences in order to walk towards a common goal

its an honour to be able to witness such a historical moment that didn't seem possible not that long ago.

you go mr president!

Tuesday, January 20, 2009

sat and today was great! i'm starting to love my job! despite the weird people who approach me and the occasional angry passenger (not my fault!), i'm quite glad the people here are nice and approachable! really makes time go by sooo much faster. =D

today was probably the worst disembarkation ever because some people are brainless they just woke up and their brains aren't working. basically two lanes would be open for people to queue for immigration while the last one is for wheelchairs and people to board. so obviously in order NOT to block the passengers' way, i'm on the third lane holding the placard.

so what happened was some intelligent passenger decided that since i'm holding the placard on the third lane, he/she thought that i was beckoning them to come over! so they ALL hopped over the BARRICADE and came towards me! monkey see monkey do, the whole bunch of people came hoarding towards me until the centre staff stationed herself there to stop monkeys from hopping over.

and they still dare to tell me "then why are you standing here?!"

"ERR because if i stand there i'll be blocking you????"

tada! nothing to say. =D

i think its nice when passengers appreciate your help. really really nice. some people just think that they're so much better than you but after a while, your skin grows in thickness so it doesn't matter anymore.

but working closer to the cruise ship means more food! sat we had starbucks-like coffee, chocolate cake, coke, peanuts etc to eat. today we had orange juice, sandwiches etc! hahahah! love doing gangway sia.. =D plus you have people around you to be crazy with so it's awesome!

there was a very funny convo this morning when we saw the breakfast (red bean bun)

S: EH got an pan!
Y: HUH what an pan? an ban have la!
J: an chuang also have! di chuang also got! but that's errr.. something else la..
everyone: HAHAHAHAHHA!

*discussing who to pass the walkie to*
J: eh give to S la! then can radio AN PAN MAN! (we were talking about mian bao chao ren before this and how he is called an pan man!)
S: i'm not an pan man! anyway did you know that he plucks out the bread from his head and gives it to people to eat?
H: HUH then what if pluck until no more left but that part then how to give to girl!
S: please la! only his head is edible. then the baker will bake him a new head! =D
A: EH he wears a red cloak too right?
Y: can eat one ah?
everyone: -.-"

i love these peeps. =D

Saturday, January 17, 2009

Always Be My Baby
David Cook

We were as one babe
For a moment in time
And it seemed everlasting
That you would always be mine

Now you want to be free
So I'm letting you fly
Cause I know in my heart babe
Our love will never die
No!

You'll always be a part of me
I'm a part of you indefinitely
Girl don't you know you can't escape me
Ooh darling cause you'll always be my baby
And we'll linger on
Time can't erase a feeling this strong
No way you're never gonna shake me
Ooh darling cause you'll always be my baby

I ain't gonna cry no
And I won't beg you to stay
If you're determined to leave girl
I will not stand in your way
But inevitably you'll be back again
Cause ya know in your heart babe
Our love will never end no

You'll always be a part of me
I'm part of you indefinitely
Girl don't you know you can't escape me
Ooh darling cause you'll always be my baby
And we'll linger on
Time can't erase a feeling this strong
No way you're never gonna shake me
Ooh darling cause you'll always be my baby

I know that you'll be back girl
When your days and your nights get a little bit colder oooohhh
I know that, you'll be right back, babe
Ooooh! baby believe me it's only a matter of time

You'll always be a part of me
I'm part of you indefinitely
Girl don't you know you can't escape me
Ooh darling cause you'll always be my baby
And we'll linger on
Time can't erase a feeling this strong
No way you're never gonna shake me
Ooh darling cause you'll always be my my baby....

You'll always be a part of me (you will always be)
I'm part of you indefinitely
Girl don't you know you can't escape me
Ooh darling cause you'll always be my baby
And we'll linger on (we will linger on....)
Time can't erase a feeling this strong
No way you're never gonna shake me
Ooh darling cause you'll always be my baby

work yest was tiring. not so much when i was working but it was the after-work period that i felt the fatigue set in. but at least it was interesting. started work at 6.45am and was guiding the people to the immigration after they disembarked. while standing there uttering many many many "morning! did you have fun?", the bored police officer came up to me and tried to teach me how to profile people. he was like "those with luggage are there for the cruise. those without are there just to gamble!". HAHAHA! and true enough, those without luggages look suspiciously like gamblers. those elderly ah-peks and stuff.. hahaa! just that i wonder why wouldnt they just go on those gambling boats (which are cheaper) instead of taking a proper cruise that goes to klang and phuket?

anw during downtime, chatted with the supervisor working for SCC. he was telling me how the virg0 passengers are terrible because they're mostly singaporeans and they like to jump queue when queueing up for immigration. this means that they will jump over the barricade and cheong to the front, only to be stuck again. -.-" and true enough, when virg0 came in, there were a handful that starting jumping out of line! hahaha!

this jamaican guy tried to get my number. he's working on the cruise that i'm working for and he freaked me out! arghh he wouldnt relent when i refused to give him my number.. >< thats like 0.o! in the end i just gave him my email (since that's not as bad and i can ignore it anw)..

anw i just got myself another $98 from doing surveys! somehow this time around it only took me 2 mths to hit the 1000pt conversion level! weirdd.. hahaha ok actually last night it was only 400+ and then it became 1335 today! i did do two surveys last night but still that doesnt explain that 900pt jump! hahaha! oh well.. quickly converted and requested for the money before they take it back should it be a mistake! =p

i've come to terms. =D yippee! not that i was devastated or what. in fact no one around us would have guessed what happened. that was how 'normal' it was. which unfortunately was the abnormal response. weird huh. perhaps it was just because we were in denial about how we felt and to realise that it was less daunting upfront than i thought it would be probably made it easier. actually a wave of relief swept over me at that moment. curiosity was what i felt and i guess i had most questions answered later on.

so yes, i'm back to my old self now. the random, bubbly, talkative, crazy old me of the past. i shall not (un)knowingly become someone else. a relationship isnt two people seeing only each other in their eyes but two people looking in the same direction, working towards that goal. i think that was the problem. we were the former, but probably only realised that later. the person whom you're with should be the one that inspires you, one that encourages and helps you improve yourself. see what you admire about that person and try to improve yourself. i guess i've probably learnt to listen more (at times, depends on who it is too).

i've no regrets to be honest. its a lesson learnt. =) if we didnt get tgt, there would always be that 'what if' in my head. but at least now we know.

working at 6.45am on fri! =D hehe its gonna be a longgg day on friday! its ok.. i'll survive! after all, i requested to start early. hahaha!

bought guitar hero yest! been playing and my fingers are starting to hurt from pressing the frets! >< although it cant compare with pressing the real strings of a guitar. im only at easy/medium level.. cant imagine what the expert level would be like! seriously..

Friday, January 02, 2009

its 2nd jan. still feels very much like december unfortunately. i'm not sure where the past 1.5mths have gone to be honest. havent seen to have accomplished much.

i think i shall start writing out my 'timetable' again so at least i feel like i'm more organised and maybe i'll be even more productive. scheduling things give me a sense of control over my own life. hahaha!

cny's coming which means i'll soon have to pack my room, cupboard etc. which isnt a good thing considering i have quite a lot of junk. =S oh well..
yay so its the new year already!

woke up early today to go for new year's gongyo at tbsc. but before that we had lormee at bukit purmei.. =D although we just had lormee yesterday (kinda) at old airport. anyway it was great to see people once more and the performances were entertaining! first time since forever that new year's day has been this exciting! hahaha!

had fish soup for lunch which we also had yesterday too! >< seriously ah.. hahaha! went over to uncle's place and watch 'on air'. nice.. hahaha! although im sooo tired today. i was dozing off halfway through the show. must be the excessive loss of blood. bleah. sucks man. usually it isnt this bad!

came back after dinner and caught little nonya! at least now the bad people are starting to get their just desserts! was sooo frustrating a few episodes before! kabish! hahaha!

okok im super tired right now. need to sleep soon. need to increase my rate of erythropoiesis.. haha! jkjk..

But I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm yours

i'll be working on 5, 9, 12, 16, 17, 19, 23, 27, 31 jan! actually 27th see how la. since its 2nd day of CNY but they need people on that day since a lot of people cannot make it. ><

cant wait to start work!!

Tuesday, December 30, 2008

i need to master the mind-over-body thing. sometimes its like i want to do something but my body is like "forget it la. dont bother. wont die even if you dont do it" and then i will just stop and give myself excuses for not doing it.

nothing in this world is free. there's always a price to pay. unfortunately. but yeah slowly slowly.. i need to have the determination to accomplish what i've set out to do! =D jiayou jiayou!

Monday, December 29, 2008

have you realised when you see half body photos of couples who are around the same height, we tend to assume that they're tall?

until you meet one half or both of them and then you realise that they're actually rather short.

*just a random observation. feel free to disagree.

which is rather >< because im 20cm shorter. cannot hide the height difference.

Saturday, December 27, 2008

so christmas is over. and so will boxing day in about an hour. which just means that the year is going to be over very very soon. out goes 2008 and let's welcome 2009. but thats for next week.

sun:
had suki sushi with tyg and as usual, he was late but not as late as he used to be. haha only 5min late but considering i was like 15min early.. but anyway, headed over to cine and ate till like 2+.. headed over to kino after that and was deliberating whether i should buy a book.. but in the end i realised forget it la. shall just borrow or something like that. went to gramaphone to see if they had enya's new cd but somehow we just couldnt find it. :( didnt really do much because he had to meet his guitar mates at tanah merah so we mrted back. =D

tues:
shopping with s13 girls! omg i miss them soo much! although i met them only a few weeks back. hahahaha. and sissy foo! please eat more! omg you're too light liao la! hahaha! although its not your fault that you lost 5kg because of diarrhoea. ><

met the tuition buddies later for dinner. man i havent seen these people since j2 (except nash that i see every sat)! it was great to see how everyone's doing well.. most of them are going to ntu with jeremy n el0nn going to NIE to become PE teachers! hahahaha! plus i think apart from nash (not sure about el0nn and 5alima), the rest of us are attached! ken, kenn, yongta0, mar1lyn, jerem7.. and jerem7's been with this girl for almost 2 yrs!! wow.. peifu peifu..

wed:
spent entire afternoon till 2.30am at uncle's place. played mahjong, watched tv, ate etc. nothing special but i guess it was good to spend it with people rather than alone.

thurs:
had lunch at jerem7's with pam and ruth. played his xbox and i think we were making a hell lotta noise sia! hahah we were a little high from the teeny weeny bit of alcohol. especially when all the bulky-sized japanese characters appeared! :P stayed till 3+ before i took lrt-mrt-bus 27- bus 10- walked home to an empty house. sadddd.. what a way to spend xmas eh? oh well, not that it was terrible but just realised that its prob the first time im spending xmas alone. was emoing away until justin came online and chatted with me. =D felt much better then made instant noodles for dinner while he left for his friend's party. was playing viwawa most of the night away. ><

friday:
ice skating! and DW on ps2 with bro/uncle/cousin! hahahha i can say that i enjoyed today more than yesterday but actually everyday is the same. the hype is overrated. saw my friend's fb status which was sth about why this christmas didnt feel like christmas at all.

tmr:
help prepare food for gathering on sun! =D

sun:
4D discussion meeting at tbsc! still need to think of my new yr resolutions. ><

Saturday, December 20, 2008

went out with pam and ruth yest! had our annual movie outing.. =D went back to rg first to visit and return vernic3 her umbrella too.. didnt see many people although i met sall7 wong and asked her if she went to tassie for hols.. haha! unfortunately didnt get to speak to her much.. maybe next time.. basically everyone thought we were back to work! if only.. hahaha! but there's no work to be done.. :( and besides if i were to RT again, its only gonna be like 1+ mth so might as well let the j3s do it because they can stay longer..

anw we headed off for lunch at billy bombers and watched yesman at cathay! hahahaha the first part of it was cringe-yly funny but it got better after a while. =D so pam, dont feel too bad! we did enjoy ourselves.. hahahahah! luckily the crowd was rather humorous too!

went to our fave supermarket to walk walk and look for ruth's barley milk tea which we couldnt find in the end. neither could we find sweety (sp?), some cross between a grapefruit and pomelo.. >< sounds damn sour to me. *cringe* i like sour things but there's only so much i can tahan. hehe..

after that headed over to vivo to meet the soka med group people. ruix1ang said he'll be late so i called b3ron and met them there. rx brought 3 of his dentistry friends along (including one of my vj snrs!) so it was nice to meet more people. met v1cky at tbsc!! omg so nice to see someone familiar.. hahaha and one that can actually still rmb me from last yr! wrote my wishes for 2009 on the countdown ball that will be floating down marina.. but i wrote it on the bottom half so i guess it'll be the fishies that will read my wishes.. :(

mrt-ed back with marcu5, rx, yansh3ng, jianx1ong (rx's friend).. all of us were heading east so it was like aljunied, bedok, tanah merah, simei, tampines.. was a nice ride back home.. talked lotsa crap.. hehe as usual.. :) even though it was a very very long day but it felt good at the end of it. minus the fact that i soon found out that i was bleeding from my heels cos of an old wound last sunday. ><

Thursday, December 18, 2008

met up with the s5s committee today! had ah yat dimsum for lunch.. 50% off! so we ordered like free and ate $117 worth of dimsum! considering thats half priced already.... means that we are about $234 worth! hahahaha! reached there at 11.10 after meeting chri5 at toa payoh to take the shuttle down.. so we headed to giant to walk walk look see.. called christ1na and met her at the restaurant. the others were late so we had our first round while waiting and they arrived shortly! we had sooo many baskets that we almost thought we couldnt finish!! we had like 9 poluobaos because chri5 wrote Qty 3 for a 3ea item! hahah! almost died when we saw the plate of baos! HAHAHA! but it was actually quite nice. took 1 or 2. cant rmb. although i think the shuijingbao cant beat the tiong bahru one at alexandra! didnt even taste close to it la! >< the hargao, cheecheongfun etc were quite good too. =D

after kinda being chased out because they were closing at 2.15pm, we headed over to the teaparty at 6th ave. sat there and continued our s5s discussion mtg till about 6+pm. seriously, by then i was sooo seh that i didnt really register much. it seemed to go in circles.... like nothing was finalised and it was all tentative blah blah. >< planned the events next yr and it seems to be almost the same as this year. realised that its not really logistically (and financially) possible to have more events considering all the committee members atm at either doing law or med. :S

went to orchard after that. wanted to watch twilight but because by the time we got there it was 7+ and the next show at lido was 8.30pm means it will end at 10.30pm! so by the time i get home it will be 11+pm which is late! so we decided to go over to cine to see. WORSE! 9 or was it 9.30pm. so ok lor forget it. chri5 wanted to return his library book so we walked all the way down to bugis. took about 1h. hahaha!! after that, we almost walked to lavender but then my feet were alr hurting like mad so we went to bugis junction to sit sit a while before chri5 realised he had some pages of the book in his bag! so we went back again and then we just headed back. chri5 sent me all the way home, including walking up the ulu hill and somehow making his way back home again later. hope you didnt lose your way!!

as my feet were hurting like hell because i wasnt used to wearing heels, i walked barefoot all the way home from simei along the painted lines on the road because it was less pokey. he tried to make me walk on the grass which would be cooler and softer but i was afraid of dog poop! hahaha! summore in the dark, who knows what i'm stepping on! EWW! he just sent me home before leaving because it was getting late and he had to catch a bus back too so he didnt come in. :(

ok im sooo tired atm im going to sleep soon. hope the rest will also heal my poor metatarsals and make them brandnew again tmr! =D

Tuesday, December 16, 2008

just got back from a shopping trip msia! =D bought myself another two pairs of diesel jeans, 3 diesel long-sleeved tops and a pair of vincci shoes!

so i was already tired but happy until i received two more little gifts at home! haha today has just been such a wonderful day!

first! christmas card from my primary school mate! haha should have guessed when she started to ask us for our addresses on facebook. :P but omg it has been a long time since i've actually received mail from friends in singapore! it makes sense to send cards through slow mail but not to communicate because by the time you receive the mail, it would have become old news and besides, you probably have already told that person about the news through msn or the likes.

second would be something that i didnt actually think would come! hahaha received money in the mail from doing online surveys! you know how these websites work.. they never seem to actually be credible enough for you to think that you would actually receive the money so when i converted my points into cash after i hit the 1000pt mark, i was wondering if i would actually receive the money in '6-8weeks' after the processing and stuff. but surprisingly i did! and i can tell you that this company is rather reliable as companies like M1 use them too! how do i know? because i did an M1 survey recently. :P hahahaha had to tell them wad i liked about student plans.. wahahahah!

so now i'm a very very happy girl! =D

Monday, December 15, 2008

alrightey! its monday again! exciting because i'm all revved up for a brand new week! hopefully peppered with regular exercise. been eating too much these few days. not good at all! >< wad with the bbq and junk i've been putting into myself. hahaa although i loveeed the green bean soup! =D wouldnt mind that at all!

the weather's really bad right now. you can't do anything outdoors without fearing it will rain! thank goodness it was clear on saturday or else what a bbq it would have been! anw it was fun listening to all the goss and seeing everyone again. same old topics but its fun when everyone is into their 'VLGR' mode and just watching them shoot each other! hahahah!!

and i probably ate one of the most expensive durians i have ever encountered too. seriously. those durians were not worth the price he paid but oh well. :P $240 for 6 durians?! $15/kg. siao ah! and i think only 1-2 were actually good. the others were not that great to be honest. plus 12 bottles of wine of which we opened 5 i think. only tried the white wine which im more familiar with considering all i drink in tassie is white. wasnt too bad. much better than jane's (duh!) but still i didnt like it that much. i'd prefer champagne just because its bubbly. hahaha! *burp* the fizz makes it more exciting! i really dont know how to appreciate alcohol. i'll just stick to passion pop if i need to. hahahaha! cheap drunk. :P A$5.90 for a bottle of fruit flavoured alcoholic drink. choice drink for poor kids who dont like the alcohol taste.

anw. thing's i've acquired over the past two days.

  1. 6 mosquito bites
  2. 1 blister
  3. 1 peeling heel.
last two are from trying to season my new pair of shoes! :(

and i finally understand why girls would wanna go on oral contraceptive pills just to regulate the hormones and clear their skin. hormone cycles are such things that make little zits pop up here and there! except that it is probably more expensive than just putting pimple cream and hoping it will go away. but it is definitely effective!! =D hahaha so lucky s1nhui got more than she asked for (in a way) although i think she'd prefer to just have lower levels of testosterone than having to pop a pill everyday.

Saturday, December 13, 2008

bbq at uncle's house later! its gonna be fun! haven't seen some of the relatives in eons.. ok maybe not eons but at least since the last time i came back. hahaha! thats still like 5 mths ago.. :P

soka exam tmr! hopefully i wouldnt fail. it would be terrible to have to retake the exam. >< plus it isnt supposed to be that difficult. hahaha! considering its only the entrance exam. a5hley said the elementary one is harder. but she took it like 3-4 years ago.. so it might be slightly different this time around. and given my personality, i hate losing. but then again i havent really been studying for it so im not sure whats going to happen tmr. hahaha!

anw so far the plans for next wk:

wed: sss committee
thurs: ruth and pam

following wk:
mon: yj and bel

went shopping the other day and got myself a pair of shoes (finally!) and a matching bag. ok it wasnt planned that way but it turned out to be about the same colour. =D will post a photo of it once my camera has been returned to me. my brother borrowed it for his outing with his friends.

in the meantime, i'm still as bored as ever when im doing nothing. i need to get a life. or rather, i just need to plug in my HDD and enjoy the X GB worth of entertainment in there. :D

Friday, December 12, 2008

its friday again! although this week has been going by soooo slowly. time really slows to a halt when there's nth to do. dammit. thank god i'm going out next wekk. =D yay!

ok just got a random call about a job interview. whats weird is i didnt even apply for a job. i'll write more about it once i get the details.. sounds phony.. hahaha!

update:

  1. the woman ol1ve refuses to tell me anything over the phone. only said i'll be assisting the manager. and she added that they have many NS guys doing it too. seriously, how many managers do you have?!
  2. hours are flexible so it doesnt matter whether im having hols or wad.
  3. she doesnt want to tell me the pay
  4. dubious company name that sounded like vee-ee-gee. somewhere along changi road
  5. job orientation can be anyday, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7pm. weird rite.
in conclusion. too good to be true. besides i dont think i really wanna work. i'd rather read my textbooks. they seem interesting. :P i must be insane. seriously. talking about books, i think i still need to get 'ecg made easy' and 'infectious diseases'. right now i have 10+ books to bring back already. michael.. please please please give me a bigger room!!! or else i really have no idea where to dump all these books!!! >< including the ones i already have in 2-3 boxes in the box room.

Monday, December 08, 2008

ok the previous entry is NOT to spite you. its actually more like a way for me to explain since you dont want to listen to me. and besides im not sure how to tell you all these in front of you, after all you just seem to not listen anyway. i'm terrible with words, i clam up in fear and i end up sobbing uncontrollably after you leave. so i never get my msg across.

i wouldnt say that i know him very very well, after all, you're right in saying that we've only known each other since feb and we only got closer in may. but we had been contemplating and discussing things since aug before getting together in sept. its gonna be 3mths soon. officially. although it seems like forever since it started way back during swot vac sem 1.

sometimes even i am not sure how long this will last. when we discussed the possibility the other night, because he didnt want to sour my family's relations, he was like "there's only one family but you can have many bfs." which is true, but it hurt so bad just thinking of it. although i know that if that happens, he wouldnt shed a tear. he's not someone who would cry. apart from his granny's death, he couldnt rmb the last time he cried. he's so emotionally stable (or rather stoic) that its scary sometimes. he's never angry, never jealous, never sad and he'll just have the stoned face until you say something that he actually responds to. then you'll get a whole range of reaction which is quite funny. =D

i've learnt that the aim of being in a relationship is not to find someone who will fill the gap for you but rather to find someone who would bring out the best in you, someone who would inspire you so that the both of you can advance together. its not because you feel like you NEED someone to make you whole but its finding two whole people to make it perfect.

love is a double-edged sword. it can make you feel 幸福 or 痛苦. but unless you give it your all, you'll never know if he's the right one. most girls would want to find a guy who would love them more than she loves him. but how many girls are that lucky? love isnt like trade, where things have to be fair/acceptable before the transaction occurs. you never know when you'll be hit by it. and by then, its probably too late. i never knew i liked him till rugby finals. before that, i didnt really bother myself with him because he never spoke much. it was only after rugby that i realised i had feelings for him. and he felt the same way although none of us knew it. it was awkward because his birthday was just a week after rugby but i didnt do anything considering people were still teasing him with M. M gave him a thumbdrive while C made him a cake. i, on the other hand, just ate the cake and enjoyed myself. that was why everyone was saying how despite other girls' attempt, he ended up with the right one. *shrugs* even i'm not sure if i'm the right one but i didnt do anything.

he was the one who came over to play psp to keep me company when i was studying. he was the one who studied with me in the reading room during winter. he kept me sane when i was almost on the brink of tears when studying because i was sooo stressed because i wanted so badly to do well.

once i jokingly mentioned that doctors are more prone to suicide and depression as compared to other professionals.. up to 4x more likely.. and he was like "dont worry, you've got me to keep you sane.." aww.. hahaha!

seriously, no matter what happens in future, we have our fair share of memories thus far. and i'm really grateful for it. =D i should just enjoy what i have now and be thankful for this chance.

Sunday, December 07, 2008

i should stop thinking of things that probably aren't going to happen (not yet at least). it is not good once my mind starts wondering. it makes me worried, scared, insecure, dumb, foolish and emotional. i dislike this side of myself.

when i look at my friends, all happy, contented and with that blissful look on their faces, hand in hand with their bf/gf, sometimes i really wonder why can't i have that too? with no problems or obstacles in the way. its easy for you to object but it hurts me so bad. so very very very badly that sometimes i feel like my heart is being torn apart. this heart-wrenching sour feeling. i really dont like it at all.

your concerns are justified i guess, but i know what i'm doing too. i'm no longer the kid back in secondary school. i know what's more impt and what's the icing on the cake. i always wonder why they never last long. now i know. because i fear you. i fear telling you and knowing what your reaction would be. i know you'll scream and yell and vehemently refuse to accept. yet when i plucked up my courage to tell you just so that you will approve of it, you dont. again. they were always never good enough. i would never be mature enough.

you refuse to listen to me, thinking that i dont know what im doing. maybe one day i might regret what i'm doing, i'm not sure. but at least im not regretting it now. its weird how everyone thinks he's great. just except you. i know your concerns arent unfounded. you would know better. but no one knows what the next 4 years will hold. thats when we graduate. maybe i'll meet someone better, or maybe he'll meet someone more suitable for him. its not like we're getting engaged/married straightaway. we even jokingly discussed the possibility of looking out for next yrs batch for a better catch even before we got together. it definitely was not a hasty decision. one decided just by that instance. we discussed it for weeks before deciding to get together. we both knew what we were in for. he knew my studies were no. 1 and that was why he didnt want to disrupt my studies, or else he would have approached me earlier about the issue. but i knew what my priorities were and i definitely would not do things to jeopardise my own graduation. and thats how we agreed.

yes, i might have been in his room to study. why? because i knew that my room was too warm to study and if i fell asleep, there wouldnt be anyone to wake me up to continue. you know me, i love sleeping so much that even the alarm wouldnt be enough. but having someone there made me want to study more plus he would wake me up after my occasional 30min naps. if not for him, i'll prob end up sleeping like 2-3h till dinner. its not like i didnt study in his room. i tried studying in my room but i always ended up on facebook or on the bed and not studying. its only because i studied better in a bigger room thats cooler with a human alarm clock that did actually wake me up that i went over to his room. but when i needed my textbooks etc, i would stay in my room and do the relevant revision/research. i know what to do. and i didnt disappoint you this semester.

i studied really hard because i didnt want you to have an excuse to not accept him. i knew what your concerns were and i tried my very best to address them. things that i could control. i cant help that he's the eldest in a big family. i can't help that he's doing arts/law. but i can show you that i am able to handle this right now. i know when to end when things get out of hand. i'm not stupid. i may like this guy a lot but if he's going to be downright *&($%, i'm not going to hang around for sure. trust me.

by the time you finish reading this, you're probably either fuming mad at the accusations you think i'm making or just so full of emotions you're not sure what you're going to do. you'll prob end up screaming at me again and i'll probably end up crying for another 1h45min but if this is going to make you give him a chance, its going to be worth it. 4 years is a long time to go and we know its difficult to even hit the 2yr mark. but at least give us a chance. maybe maybe there's a 1% chance. if we end up together even after we graduate, i actually think that by then, those problems/concerns that you have can be ironed out one by one. after all, 4 years is definitely long enough to get to know the family etc. isnt it better this way? instead of only getting to know the family well after marriage. perhaps by then your concern would be that after we're tgt for so long, it will be awkward to break up even if either of us meet someone better. well, no one knows for sure so why worry now? =D

just realised how heck care dont care i am about my looks.. >< which isnt very good considering how i'll need to meet people out there and stuff when i work etc.. so i decided that i should start just playing around with wadeva make up i have and try to style my hair.. PROPERLY! 30s scrunches arent counted.. hahaha now that i've all the time in the world.. :P

talking about hair and stuff.. msX can spend 30min before an exam dolling herself up and that includes making her hair, putting on make up etc.. seriously?! i cant be bothered man.. wear the sloppiest things i can find so that im comfortable and use the extra time to revise or sth.. but i guess her logic of feel good = do well does make < sense but its not practical to me! rather use the time to revise or sth.. hehehe..

UPDATE! i've got 4 boxes in the box room with one chinaman bag. and as you can see, i STILL have stuff lying around. including my pillow, blanket etc. RIGHT. so i guess i might actually need 2-3 more bags. considering i still have laundry etc that have to be washed and kept. :S not good if i can say so myself. my arms are feeling all wobbly from carrying the bag/boxes upstairs man.

at least now i feel like i've kind of packed. my room actually feels big now. after not being able to fully open my door because the DHL box etc was blocking my door. so i had to open the door, walk into the corner next to the shelf, close the door before i could actually get into my room. repeat process to get out of room by starting in the corner. :P

more packing later after lunch so that i can go out for dinner with friends later to celebrate my birthday! then get everything done by tmr so that i can go to town and get last min shopping down and pack my luggage. crazyyyy man!

ok my room is in a relative mess. im not sure how to put it into words. the box on the floor is full of things to bring home because

  1. i dont use them
  2. they are space wasters here
  3. dont see a need for them
  4. food that i couldnt finish and prob is expired by a mth or two
need to pack my printer today. probably move my tv and stuff to james room today too. gotta keep my blanket, pillow, bed sheets etc too! there's still my laundry powder, softener etc to keep. see its all these need to use cannot keep things that are taking up all the space in my room right now! and its pissing me off because i cannot pack properly!!!

i think i'll pack my toiletries in because i've got the travel packs which i guess i can use in the meantime. after all its only two more days before im home! whee~! next yr i'll buy less stuff. its not funny having to pack this much shit into the box room man..

ok shall head back to packing. printer time! gonna have to cushion it with my clothes. and there're still shoes to pack! *faints* this is not fun at all! who wants to help me pack!!!
